While the title is a bit clickbaity, there’s some truth to it – When we got Honkai Star Rail Harmony Trailblazer in version 2.2, everyone immediately realized how broken they were. This is most likely the first time in Gacha game history that the main character of a game “broke” the meta, and we’re here to explain why that is and how to build Harmony MC if you want to play them. Of course, since this is an entirely free character you don’t really have to use Honkai Star Rail top up services to max them out, but you might want to pull for characters like Boothill and Ruan Mei, who are both limited banners!
Harmony Trailblazer Abilities and Traces
Harmony MC is all about that break damage. As such, most of their abilities and traces are ways to enhance break damage either of themselves or their teammates, making them perfect supports for characters like Boothill who thrive off of break damage.
Skill – Halftime to Make It Rain
The Trailblazer throws their hat into the air as clockie pops out of it and deals damage to the enemy up to 5 times (7 at E6). It is a bounce skill that deals 50% of the Trailblazers ATK as Imaginary Damage to the target enemy, then bounces 4 additional times dealing 50% ATK each time. This does tons of weakness damage, especially against a single target – and is best used in such scenarios.
Technique – Now! I’m The Band!
Their technique boosts the Break Eff of all allies by 30% for 2 turns. This is a great way to give allies some Break Eff if you don’t have full energy to use the Harmony MC’s ultimate at the start of the fight.
Talent – Full-On Aerial Dance
The main reason why Honkai Star Rail Harmony Trailblazer doesn’t need an Energy% Rope to be effective. While you might want to build some ER%, maxing out this talent gives the Honkai Star Rail Harmony Trailblazer 10 Energy each time an enemies weakness gets broken. Additionally, whenever the enemies get weakness broken their turns get delayed by another 30%.
Ultimate – All-Out Footlight Parade
Here we are – the main reason why the Trailblazer of the Harmony Path is absolutely broken and meta-changing. This ultimate introduces a new effect into the game called “Super Break”, which means that while characters are under this effect, they inflict “Super Break” damage on the enemy while the enemy is weakness broken.
Super Break scales off of a couple of things: Toughness Health, Break Eff, Character Level, and the Trailblazers A2 Trace which increases Super Break damage based on the number of enemies on field, being most effective against single targets.
Characters who can break enemies efficiently can use this new mechanic to its full potential, and it’s best utilized with Boothill, Ruan Mei, and Gallagher. There are other characters that can utilize All-Out Footlight Parade, such as Xueyi.
Trace Focus
Since we all have limited resources available for building our characters, we need to know what first to focus – and need we even say it? For the Honkai Star Rail Harmony Trailblazer, you want to focus on their Ultimate>Talent>Skill>Basic Att.
As for most other characters that don’t enhance their basic attacks, you really shouldn’t be putting any resources into that trace unless you REALLY want to max them out.
Relics and Lightcones
For the best Relic Set, you should go for the Watchmakers Legacy. It is A) Lore-Accurate and B) Their best set as it gives 16% Break Effect at 2pcs, and gives the entire team an additional 30% Break Effect when the wearer uses their ultimate at 4pcs.
As far as Planar Ornaments go – Talia: Kingdom of Banditry is their Best in Slot as it gives more Break Effect.
Stats to prioritize are: SPD>Break Effect>Some ER, and finally if you can squeeze it in – a bit of survivability wouldn’t hurt.
Lightcone
If you can pull for it, their best Lightcone is Past Self in Mirror – but it is a premium lightcone and will be featured for Ruan Mei’s rerun.
As far as the next best option goes – Memories of the Past. It gives a lot of Break Effect and regenerates 8 Energy when at R5.
Conclusion
Harmony Trailblazer is one of the best main characters in a gacha game, period. They are so strong that they nearly shifted the entire meta around them and their Super Break Effect, and if you don’t want to wait until you get near the end of the 2.2 storyline in order to obtain Harmony Path for the Trailblazer, you can buy a Honkai Star Rail account that already has it beaten!
